How to Create an Online Course
ProProfs Training Maker lets you easily create, design, and publish online training courses. You can create a course from scratch or look for a ready-to-use course in our premium library of 100+ professionally designed and fully customizable courses on various subjects, such as sexual harassment prevention, safety & compliance, employee skills, and leadership & management.
You can use these pre-designed courses as is or edit them based on your training requirements.

How to Create a Course Using the ProProfs Library
Visit the ProProfs course library to look for a course for your requirement, and click 'Use This Course' to add it to your dashboard. That's all you need to do. Make edits to the template as needed and share with your learners.
How to Create a Course From Scratch
Step 1: On your ProProfs Training Maker dashboard, click Create a Course.
On the dashboard, you will find all the courses you have created.
- Next, click "Create From Scratch."
Step 2: Edit the Course Cover
The course cover editor opens, as shown below.
Here, you can customize the course cover. There are two general settings on the left panel: "Header" & "General."
From the header dropdown menu, you can edit the following:
- Cover Image: Add a cover image to your new online course
- Brightness: Set the brightness for better readability
- Course Title, Subtitle, and Short Description: Add a title, subtitle (if any), and a short description of your new course. You can change the text color as well.
- Button Text: You can edit the button text. Like, replace "Start" with "Let’s Begin"’ Also, you can change the button color.
- Banner Thumbnail and Banner Alignment: You can choose to add a banner thumbnail by clicking Upload.
Select an image from our library or upload your own. You can also set the alignment of the thumbnail.
From the General dropdown menu, you can:
Choose to show/hide the following:

Description: Add a course description to let users quickly understand the topic.

Course Objectives: Mention the course’s objectives crisply and concisely to let users know how it will benefit them.

About the Instructor: Introduce the course instructor by mentioning a few lines to connect with users.

Table of Contents: Show the course content in an organized and easy-to-understand manner.

FAQs related to the course: Provide answers to the most common questions users may have related to the course.

Once you enable the settings on the left, those options will appear on the right, ready to be edited.
Step 3: Preview the Course Cover
Use the "Preview" button to look at the changes, or you can click Done to go back to the editor.
Step 4: Add/Edit Course Elements
Here’s a quick view of the course editor. You can perform the following operations here:
#1 Add New - Pick what you want to add next. You can add a new chapter, page, quiz, survey, poll, flashcard, or resources/files you want to attach to the course, or you can even import a course from other SCORM-compliant LMSs.
#2 Add Media - replace the default page media with your own. You can upload files like images, videos, documents, spreadsheets, or presentations.
#3 Layout - Change the arrangement of how you want to present text and media.

Step 5: Preview the Course Elements

After adding/editing the course elements, you can preview the course using the Preview button.
Here’s what the preview looks like:

After finishing the preview, click Done to save your course and return to the ProProfs Training Maker dashboard.
You can see and access all your courses from the dashboard. Additionally, you can quickly rename a course by following the steps shown in the graphic below.
