How to Change Your Account Password
Updating your password helps you keep your account secure, especially if you've logged in on shared devices, noticed suspicious activity, or haven't changed your password in a while. Here’s how to change it quickly without getting locked out or stuck mid-process.
Why This Matters
-
Protects your course data and learner activity – A strong, regularly updated password keeps unauthorized users out.
-
Helps prevent account lockouts – Especially useful if your old password was shared or reused across accounts.
-
Supports IT and compliance policies – Many teams need to rotate passwords every few months.
Change the password of your ProProfs Training Maker account in simple steps. Here's how you can do it:
1. Go to My Account, which appears when hovering the cursor over the profile icon in the top right corner.
2. Open Security & Alerts and click the Change Password link.
3. Enter your current and new passwords, and re-enter the new one. Click Save Changes to update your account password.
Best Practices
-
Don’t use your name, company name, or common words in the password.
-
Avoid reusing old passwords across platforms.
-
Use a mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols (minimum 8 characters).
-
If you share your account (not recommended), change the password after team reshuffles or role changes.
-
Always log out from public/shared devices before updating passwords.
Frequently Asked Questions
I forgot my current password. How can I reset it?
Go to the login page and click Forgot Password?. You’ll receive an email with steps to create a new one. If you don’t receive the email, check your spam folder or contact support.
Can I change someone else’s password?
No. Each user is responsible for managing their own login credentials. Admins can reset learner passwords under user management, but can’t directly access or change them.
Why am I getting a "Password Incorrect" error?
Double-check that you're entering your current password in the first field. Passwords are case-sensitive. If you’re still seeing this error, try resetting your password from the login page.
What happens after I change my password?
You’ll be logged out of all other active sessions. This helps protect your account from unauthorized access using old credentials.
I changed my password but still can’t log in. Now what?
Wait a few seconds, then try again. If the issue continues, clear your browser cache or try a different browser. If all else fails, contact ProProfs Support.
